DocTalent4EU Testimonials Highlight the Importance of Skills Development

October 1, 2024

The DocTalent4EU project has officially launched a month-long LinkedIn campaign, shining a spotlight on the courses developed by project partners. These courses aim to provide PhD candidates with critical transversal skills to boost their professional career, both within academia and beyond.

Building on insights from an analysis of the most sought-after soft skills – conducted by “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi – the University of Alcalá, University of Limerick, HVL, and University of Cote d’Azur collaborated to create and pilot three key courses:

  • Enhancing Communication and Negotiation Skills
  • Teamwork, Networking, and Co-creation
  • Personal Effectiveness and Leadership

These courses were designed to equip PhD candidates with the transferable soft skills needed to navigate a rapidly evolving professional landscape.

As part of the campaign, inspiring testimonials will be shared from PhD candidates, who participated in the pilot phases during the DocTalent4EU Summer and Winter Schools as well as the Hackathon, alongside reflections from course creators, lecturers, and non-academic stakeholders. Each of these voices will provide a unique perspective on how these courses can enhance employability and prepare PhD candidates and early-career researchers for diverse opportunities both within and outside academia.

Head over to the DocTalent4EU LinkedIn page to hear directly from PhD candidates, course creators, and stakeholders about how these courses can make a difference in career development.
