The University of Limerick will host the second DocTalent4EU Summer School on effective communication and negotiation skills for PhD candidates. The Summer School will take place in Limerick from Tuesday, May 28th to Thursday, May 30th, 2024.

The DocTalent4EU Summer School is a unique opportunity for PhD candidates from different backgrounds to benefit from a comprehensive learning experience that combines online and face-to-face training, networking opportunities with participants from other institutions as well as instructors, and the acquisition of valuable knowledge and skills that will enhance participants’ professional qualifications and career prospects. 

The successful completion of the training programme will entitle participants to qualify for DocTalent4EU digital credentials. 

  • Eligibility: The Summer School welcomes applications from PhD candidates proficient in English, irrespective of their discipline.
  • Selection Criteria: Applicants will be selected based on their potential to benefit from the DocTalent4EU program, aligning with the project’s objectives of fostering talent across disciplines.
  • Important Dates:
    • Application Deadline: Friday, March 22nd, 2024
    • Notification of Acceptance: Monday, March 25th, 2024
    • MOOC Open: Monday, March 25th, 2024 to Friday, May 24th, 2024
    • DocTalent4EU Summer School & Hackathon: Tuesday, May 28th to Thursday, May 30th, 2024

Program structure

The DocTalent4EU Summer School comprises two distinct phases:

  • Online MOOC: Participants will engage in an enriching online learning experience from March 25th to May 24th, 2024. This phase will lay the foundation for effective communication and negotiation strategies.
  • Face-to-Face Training Programme and Hackathon: From May 28th to May 30th, 2024, participants will converge at the University of Limerick for an immersive training program and Hackathon. This segment will offer hands-on activities, discussions, and practical exercises to reinforce learning and foster collaboration.
