In the last week of September, colleagues from the DocTalent4EU consortium participated at the EAIE conference in Rotterdam, which gathered more than 6000 thousand professionals from all over the world. During the event, our team had the chance to present a poster on how to improve transversal skills training for PhD candidates and have engaging discussions with conference attendees in the topic. The poster, which described the major outputs developed during DocTalent4EU and its predecessor, DocEnhance, showcased three major ways in which HEIs can improve their skills training offer to PhD candidates:
- By designing and implementing regular career tracking services, which can provide fine-grained data on common career paths after the PhD and the skills required in these occupations,
- Designing and implementing courses on needed transversal skills
- Expanding dedicated career support services
