On the 12th and 13th of January 2023, the Université Côte d’Azur (UCA) hosted the kick-off meeting of DocTalent4EU, a Horizon-funded project aimed at improving transversal skills training and career development for PhD candidates. During the event, project partners gave detailed presentations on the activities to be implemented during the course of the project, and also discussed procedural aspects of implementation (e.g., coordination, quality assurance procedures, monitoring).
Next to planning the work for the upcoming months, the kick-off meeting provided a good opportunity to discuss links between DocTalent4EU and other ongoing activities and initiatives. Dario Capezzuto, Policy Officer at the European Commission, showcased current policy developments to promote the European Research Area. Hanne Johnsen, senior adviser at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, presented a previous Horizon-funded project on doctoral training, DocEnhance, while Auréa Cophignon, Project Manager at UCA, described the digital credential system currently in use at the institution. The content of these presentations will be used throughout the project to refine and improve DocTalentEU’s activities and outputs.
